Smarter Photo Technology
Using a smartphone to take a photo is something we all do and we usually rely on the camera feature built right into our iOS or Android based phone but not anymore. There are several options available to all the shutter bugs out there that will take your phone photography to the next level.
- Pro Camera – This is an app that can be downloaded for iOS devices and it’s like using a single-lens reflex camera. You have the ability to adjust exposure and flash right on the screen and with just a few taps, you can display a grid to help compose a better shot. It even has an anti-shake feature, so it will wait until you stop moving before the shutter is activated. You are basically getting professional-level controls of your image for just $5 for the app and additional features to adjust lighting are only a few dollars extra.
- Camera FV-5- Is available for Android users that gives them the same experience as ProCamera. It has additional features like a live histogram, burst-mode, and exposure bracketing and time-laps imagery. You can also choose from a selection of file types when saving your images. This app runs about $4.00.
- Adobe Photoshop Fix- This version was created for mobile devices and allows you the same photo editing capability as the standard software, including the ability to adjust shadow intensity, contrast or add effects like vignetting. You’ll also have access to a tool that can distort the image in a smooth way to complete shape-modifying effects if you like. Its interface can be a little more complicated but the app has built in help and it is free for both iOS and Android devices.
These are just a few of the options available, but pretty soon you’ll be able to turn your phone photos into digital masterpieces like never before.
