Jaime is the General Manager of IES. She has earned this title. Jaime has been with IES for 17 years. Starting as an Executive assistant, learning every area of the business and industry from her mentors. She then moved into procurement, and sales. In 2021 Jaime was put in charge of IES largest clients and that is when the full range of her abilities came to life. Jaime is, in her own words, “Looking forward to leading the team and our client’s businesses into the future.”

• Q: What’s the best thing about working at IES, Inc.? A: The team here. They are my second family and since I’m the only woman currently, it’s really like having a bunch of brothers and uncles. They are hilarious, we never fail to make each other laugh and the support that they provide for any challenges anyone is going through outside of the office is something that you can’t really describe. You just need to experience it. I’m extremely lucky that I get to share this office space with them on a regular basis.
• Q: What are you currently listening to, reading or watching? A: I’ve been listening to Kelly Clarkson Radio on Pandora, predominantly, and watching “Jane the Virgin” on Netflix.
• Q: Where is your dream vacation destination? A: Hawaii, followed by a tour to England, Scotland and Ireland. I know, opposites, but I’ve loved Hawaii since I was a kid watching Magnum P.I. and then, of course, with my most recent crush on Dwayne Johnson, how can a girl resist?
  As for my tour of England, Scotland and Ireland, there is something about the history of these places that still lives on that draws me in. Part of me wonders if in a previous life I spent time in these places as reading or watching things that take place in these areas bring me a sense of peace and familiarity.
• Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? A: This is such a hard question because I am torn between invisibility and the ability to harness a great force, like Wanda, aka Scarlett Witch, from the Avengers. Invisibility would be a great power I think because I imagine all of the things I could do or get done in a day without being tripped up by other people. As for the power that Wanda wields, I like this idea because it’s not immediately obvious that she has it, but boy when she unleashes it to protect those she loves, it’s intense and nothing can stand in her way.
• Q: Tell us one thing you ‘geek out’ over. A: Hmm, that’s a hard one. Can a person geek out over nail art? I love watching YouTube videos on different designs and I have a case full of polishes and tools that I’ve acquired over the years as well that puts me in my happy place.

Before re-joining IES, Inc. in February 2022, JM received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting and has started his career in IT by designing and building databases which grew to building server rooms and data centers of all sizes.

Throughout his career, JM has continued his education and obtained certifications from many vendors including Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, VMware and Veeam, just to name a few.

Before joining IES, Inc. in November 2016, Mike studied engineering and computer science at Syracuse University. He has spent the last 30 years in the IT services industry working for a range of internet and management service providers in New York and Connecticut.

In addition to being the office comedian, Mike’s primary role is to support existing IES customers as a technical escalation point as well as providing sales engineering support for potential new customers. Most recently, he has designed and subsequently rolled out IES’s new multi-factor authentication (MFA) product.

• Q: What’s the best thing about working at IES, Inc.? A: The people. I don’t just mean my coworkers, as we wouldn’t be successful without each other’s support. I also mean our customers with whom I’ve forged many great working relationships. I find great satisfaction in IES being responsible, in part, for their success.
• Q: What are you currently listening to, reading or watching? A: I’m always reading industry news ranging from new and upcoming tech to the latest cyber-security alerts. To cheer me up, I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music genres on Spotify. I also enjoy watching period pieces. For example, I’m halfway through ‘Downton Abbey’ on Netflix.
• Q: Where is your dream vacation destination? A: Anywhere on the beach that is secluded and off-grid where I can enjoy local cuisine and explore the region. If I were to name places they would be somewhere like Belize or Costa Rica.
• Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? A: Teleportation has endless possibilities and would save on gas. Another particularly useful superpower would be a BS detector. Come to think of it, I’d probably end up setting it off myself. I’ll stick with teleportation.

Kevin joined IES, Inc. in July 2021 and has quickly learned our systems and processes. While he is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, he is also a part of our security team that has been executing new, innovative ways to secure our customers. Additionally, he takes part in building and deploying firewalls, servers and other network devices.

On top of his responsibilities at IES, Kevin also serves our country as a part of the armed forces, holding the position of SGT in the Army National Guard.

• Q: What’s the best thing about working at IES, Inc.? A: IES is built by a team that treats each other as family, and I was welcomed with open arms. This new family has given me the opportunity to learn and grow and their values are aligned with mine. From helping and providing the best work we can to being the best we can in a professional matter, IES has it all.
• Q: What are you currently listening to, reading or watching? A: Mr. Robot is one of the best cyber shows ever created. It takes place in NYC and follows the inner workings of a schizophrenic hacker’s mind. I appreciated this show so much because of the realistic attention to detail that was presented. It showcased real Linux terminals and commands. Most TV shows utilize fake computer screens just for cinematic affects, so to watch actual commands on a Linux-based operating system was a nice change.
  Currently, I am reading “Open Source Intelligence Techniques,” by Michael Bazzell. This book teaches you and guides you on how to use OSINT in a cyber investigation.
• Q: Where is your dream vacation destination? A: My dream vacation would be to visit Japan. I have heard that the country is beautiful and rich in history. I would also like to see the architecture and learn more about the culture.
• Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? A: If I could choose one superpower it would be to fly. I could save so much money not having to drive a car. No more car insurance, no worries about a rock hitting your windshield or paying for oil changes. Also, if I could fly, I could visit Japan and any other part of the world whenever I wanted to. The freedom of being able to fly would be remarkable.
• Q: Tell us one thing you ‘geek out’ over. A: “Capture the Flag” (CTF) is a special kind of cybersecurity competition designed to challenge its participants to solve computer security problems and/or capture and defend computer systems. Participating in a CTF helps developers learn to think creatively about how software can be exploited. Some CTFs provide the opportunity to play offensive, exploiting the same types of vulnerabilities that they are trying to identify and eliminate in their code. I really enjoy the puzzles that you must critically solve when participating in these events as it helps me to further hone my cybersecurity skills.

Miguel joined IES, Inc. in November 2021 and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in cyber security after receiving his associates degree in applied science with a focus on cyber security and information security from SUNY Orange County Community College.

• Q: What’s the best thing about working at IES, Inc.? A: I love that my colleagues are truly like a second family and my customers are an extension of that family.
• Q: What are you currently listening to, reading or watching? A: Mostly Disney+, CocoMelon and whatever else my 1-year-old wants to watch. If I’m lucky I get to watch a quarter, period, or inning of one of my favorite sports teams’ games.(Knicks, Giants, Rangers, and/or Yankees are my teams.
• Q: Where is your dream vacation destination? A: I would love to travel through Europe and visit historical sites with a focus on Rome and Paris
• Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? A: The ability to teleport instantly along with anything I touch - think about the amount of time saved.
• Q: Tell us one thing you ‘geek out’ over. A: Building gaming computers. I’ve built several for myself and for friends/family. I also enjoy learning about new IT related technologies. It’s always great to imagine what the next great tech will be and often times new tech far exceeds reasonable expectations.
